ZIARUL FINANCIAR granted SUCIU POPA with the LARGEST DEAL IN ENERGY AWARD, within the LAWYERS’ GALA 2017. The award was received for assisting Enel Investment Holding BV in finalizing the acquisition of 13.6% of the share capital of E-Distributie Muntenia S.A. and Enel Energie Muntenia S.A., a transaction worth 400 million Euro which increased Enel’s interest in the two companies to 78%. The team was led by Miruna Suciu and Luminita Popa (Managing Partners) and also included Dan Ciobanu (Partner) and Roxana Fercala (Managing Associate).

The award recognizes the outstanding capabilities and transactional expertise of the Suciu Popa legal team, which are also regularly endorsed by a variety of league tables and legal industry publications, such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Global Arbitration Review.

The transaction headlined in this Gala is one in a series of successful mandates handled by Suciu Popa in 2017, including the recent legal assistance provided to Mazarine Energy Romania in restructuring and completing the acquisition of 19 onshore oil fields and related assets, lands, workover rigs and associated crews from OMV Petrom SA.
