Amendment to the Rules of Procedure of the Chamber of Deputies

Decision no. 32/2021 on amending the Rules of Procedure of the Chamber of Deputies was published in the Official Gazette, Part I no. 301 of March 25, 2021.

According to the amendments the distribution of the functions in the Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies for each parliamentary group will be made following the negotiations between the leaders of the parliamentary groups, respecting the political configuration of the Chamber of Deputies. The distribution is approved by the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies with the open vote of the majority of the present deputies, and the vote can be expressed by electronic means. Nominal proposals for the positions of Vice-President, Secretary and Quaestor that make up the Permanent Bureau shall be made by the leaders of the parliamentary groups, within the number of seats. The list of proposed candidates shall be submitted in full to the vote of the Chamber of Deputies and shall be approved by an open vote of the majority of the Members present, which may also be made by electronic means.

Project concerning the maximum expenditure ceiling for housing, accommodation and travel of prefects and sub-prefects

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched for public debate the draft Government Decision to establish the maximum ceiling on expenditures on service housing, accommodation and travel expenses of prefects and sub-prefects, for 2021.

European Commission proposes package of measures to ensure respect for children’s rights and support for children in need

On Wednesday, 24 March 2021, the European Commission adopted the first comprehensive EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, as well as a proposal for a Council Recommendation establishing a European Child Guarantee, to promote equal opportunities for children at risk of poverty or social exclusion.
