Launching 360Competition, the First Romanian Law Firm Specialized in Competition and State Aid

Adrian Șter and Diana Crângașu, two of the most seasoned competition and state aid lawyers in Romania, are launching the first law boutique specialized exclusively in these two areas on the Romanian market.

360Competition brings together a team of senior lawyers who will directly handle competition and state aid projects, such as: antitrust investigations, merger notifications, the notification of state aid measures to the European Commission and the implementation of compliance programmes. The 360Competition team is also specialized in tackling commercial matters with major competition law implications, such as structuring distributions network, crafting a pricing and discounts systems, analyzing the entering into commercial relationships with other market players and taking part in professional or sectorial associations.

360Competition’s bedrocks are Adrian’s track record as partener in charge of the competition departments of D&B David si Baias and Wolf Theiss, two top tier competition departments in Romania, and Diana’s expertise gained in coordinating the local competition practice of Clifford Chance, in relation to which she will act as ’of counsel’ – as a matter of fact, 360Competition is looking forward to assisting other law firms with their competition and state aid matters.

During its first year of activity, 360Competition aims to increase its already substantial  client portfolio by around 40%, and, for the next two years, it plans to develop a team of up to 10 competition and state aid lawyers.

The 360Competition lawyers are amongst the most experienced in Romania, recommended by the specialized international rankings and representing multinational companies and local entrepreneurs. Over time, they have been involved in national and European investments and complex cross-border economic concentrations, covering sectors such as banking, insurance, energy, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, construction, media, industry, automobiles and FMCG.

Adrian Șter: „360Competition is the natural result of a career exceeding 15 years in the field of competition and state aid, during which I had the opportunity to be at the helm of the most high profile competition law matters in Romania. The opening of a specialized boutique reflects both the confidence we have in our capabilities and the maturity of the Romanian legal services market, which favours these initiatives.

Diana Crângașu: “Our experience and the portfolio of clients we set out with confirm that we are taking this step not only with the best team, but also at the right time. The innovation starts from our business model, as we aim to offer to our clients innovative solutions, to which they would not have had access before – after all, our motto is ‘crafting possibilities’ for a reason.

The lack of corporate constraints, the flexibility and the direct involvement of two senior lawyers who specialize in competition and state aid are among the strengths 360Competition will use to effectively support the commercial objectives of its clients and establish as a top tier law firm in Romania.
