New appointments at management level at KPMG in Romania

KPMG in Romania is pleased to announce two new appointments through internal promotions at management level, and a new hire, reflecting the dedication and professional resilience of our team and the constant growth of our business. As from 1 October, Daniel Pană becomes a Partner in Tax, while Victor Iancu is promoted to Associate Partner in Advisory. Inga Ţîgai joins us as a new hire in Tax, also as an Associate Partner. The new appointments confirm the talent, innovative and intrapreneurial skills of our staff, consolidate our teams and enhance the services we provide to our clients.

Daniel Pană, Partner, Tax

During his university years, Daniel was an intern for two summers in KPMG in Romania’s transaction services team and started his full time role in the Tax Team of KPMG in 2002. Together with his strong team, he has made a great contribution to the development of the Corporate Tax and M&A practice in Romania. He continues to innovate and improve our client and people value propositions, as well as promoting collaboration with colleagues across the firm.

Daniel specializes in corporate direct taxation (including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and local taxes), with a focus on Deals. The projects he has worked on include: M&A and structuring advice; local tax compliance; developing, selling and implementing tax technology solutions (such as our Romanian KPMG Corporate Tax Manager); tax reviews and certifications; tax audit support (and litigation, together with KPMG Legal); business reorganizations; R&D tax credits and more.

Inga Ţîgai, Associate Partner, Tax

In the constantly changing tax environment in Romania and internationally, tax functions need to be effective today and prepared for tomorrow.

With 16 years of experience in tax advisory in the Big Four, Inga is joining us as Head of Tax and Legal Technology. Her expertise as a driver for tax function transformation and as a Global Mobility Services (GMS) expert is highly regarded in the market. She also brings considerable experience in supporting the Romanian Tax Authorities with the development of new technology and with improving the tax landscape to better serve taxpayers. Inga is an active member of several tax and business taskforce groups.

KPMG in Romania’s Tax Department has always been at the forefront of technological developments, for example by providing easy to use apps to help clients with their tax compliance. Inga will enhance our commitment to keeping pace with and anticipating the impact of new technology on the tax compliance process, and the use of the latest technological developments by KPMG Tax professionals to provide the highest quality service to our clients. She will be working with Tax stakeholders across all industries to improve their tax operating models and to support organizations with their tax compliance with the right blend of knowledge, people and digital solutions.

Victor Iancu, Associate Partner, Advisory

Victor joined KPMG in 2006 and, with more than 15 years of management consulting experience, he currently leads the Business and Service Design practice of KPMG in Romania, including the delivery of Customer/Employee Experience analysis and design thinking services. For two years (2011-2012) he served as a consultancy services advisor in London, for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

With deep expertise in government and public sector affairs (ranging from public procurement and concessions, to public corporate governance and strategies), Victor also heads the Public Sector line of business in KPMG. He currently acts as Lead Expert appointed by the European Commission in the Intelligent Cities Challenge project that supports 136 cities in using cutting-edge technologies to lead the intelligent, green and socially responsible recovery.

Victor started his career in the National Institute of Economic Research of the Romanian Academy. He holds a PhD in the Economics of Innovation as well as several prestigious qualifications, including from INSEAD, Darden School of Business (Univ. of Virginia) and Cardiff University. He is an active business researcher, and is the author and co-author of several books and internationally peer reviewed articles on business economics and innovation strategies.

Victor is also a certified business and executive coach, accredited by the International Coaching Federation. He set up the internal coaching practice in KPMG in Romania, and currently acts as executive coach for Managers and Senior Managers across the CEE region.
