Humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees extended
The Romanian Government adopted an Emergency Ordinance (EGO) on October 5, 2023, amending art. 1 (11) of EGO no. 15/2022 regarding humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees by the Romanian state; as per the EGO, the date for aid assistance was extended from the end of 2023 to March 31, 2024. Gambling taxes increase
The Romanian Government adopted an EGO on October 5, 2023, amending EGO no. 77/2009 on the organising and exploitation of gambling, as well as EGO no. 20/2013 on the establishing, organising, and functioning of the National Office for Gambling. The amendments pertain to the following: increasing taxes for gambling licenses; forbidding alcoholic beverages at gambling locations; creating a register for entities; and increasing guarantees for entities.
