Romania offers mineral resources licences via new public tender

On 21 November, Romania’s Official Gazette published the Order of the President of the Romanian National Agency for Mineral Resources (NAMR) for approving the list of perimeters for the concession of exploration activities through public tender – Round No. 101/2023 for various mineral resources such as (poly)metallic ores, copper, gold and silver ores, geothermal, therapeutical and mineral waters, coal, iron and manganese minerals, etc.  On this Round, 20 perimeters have been offered for concession.

The deadline for the submission of the offers is 17 January 2024 at 4.30 pm.

The procedure is open to Romanian or foreign legal entities.

The participants must submit their offer in the Romanian language by hand or post.

A complete set of documents and information must be included in the submisssion, including corporate, financial and technical capacity, the proposed exploration programme split per contractual years, value of the works, the technical project for environmental rehabilitation, etc. (This list in not exhaustive. Contact your CMS legal representative for a complete list.)

The scoring criteria will be available free of charge at the NAMR’s headquarters.

Under this specific procedure, NAMR makes available to interested parties the available geological information from the National Geological Database and the National Mineral Resources/ Reserves Database. Access to the information will be granted after the conclusion of confidentiality agreements and payment of access tariff.
