CMS and ACCESS advise Agir Global on acquisition of Romanian subsidiary of Sidma Group

International law firm CMS has advised Turkish steelmaker Agir Global (AGIR HADDECILIK A.Ş.) on the acquisition of 100% of the shares in the Steel Service Center Sidma Romania SRL, a subsidiary of Greek-based Sidma Group. The acquisition marks Agir Global’s first step into the European steel market and is part of the company’s broader strategy to gain access to the key global steel markets. The advisory company Access Business Solutions (Access) has been the main advisor for the entire transaction under the direct coordination of Emre Saldirak as Managing Partner.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the competent authorities in Romania.

Agir Global is mainly active in the flat steel segment of the industry and operates a rolling mill and steel service centre in Türkiye, producing a wide range of flat steel products, teardrop and diamond sheets.

Agir Global plans to make the necessary modernisation, technological and capacity investments in Sidma Romania SRL and aims to expand its operations primarily in the Romanian market and throughout Europe.

The CMS team was led by Elena Andrei and Horea Popescu (M&A), and included Rares Crismaru (M&A); and Claudia Nagy and Oana Chivu (Competition).
