CMS is delighted to share the honours in the winning entry for the “Investment Deal of the Year” award at the Property Forum Awards Gala 2024. The firm was awarded this prestigious recognition following its role advising L&C Properties, part of M Core, on its acquisition of 25 retail parks in Romania from Mitiska REIM.
The Property Forum Awards celebrate exceptional projects, significant transactions, and inspiring individuals in the Romanian market, with winners chosen by a distinguished jury of real estate experts.
A multidisciplinary CMS team, led by partners Horea Popescu and Roxana Fratila, advised L&C Properties on this strategic transaction, marking its entry into the Romanian market and its largest acquisition to date.
Managing Partner of CMS Romania and Head of CEE Corporate M&A, Horea Popescu, comments: “We are delighted to share the honours of winning this award. This transaction was not only significant in terms of size, but it also presented a high degree of complexity, with numerous assets in various locations, and involved many months of preparations and fast-paced negotiations. I extend my thanks to the CMS team for its hard work and dedication, and to the client for its trust, which led to the successful completion of this important transaction for both our client and the Romanian market.”
Partner and Head of Real Estate & Construction at CMS Romania, Roxana Fratila, adds: “We are honoured to receive this award as recognition of our role in this transaction, which is the largest deal signed on the retail sector of the Romanian real estate market. Our in-depth local insight combined with sector expertise, gained in numerous projects in the region, put us in a uniquely strong position to advise on large portfolio deals that require ultra-specialisation and significant deployments of forces in a tight timeframe.”
