The final of the “European Law Moot Court” competition will take place tomorrow at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg

The closing arguments will be broadcast live from 2.45 p.m.

In accordance with the motto “Justice close to the citizen”, the Court continues its constant efforts to bring together young Europeans in particular.

Tomorrow, it will host the final phase of the “European Law Moot Court” competition. This is the world’s largest moot court competition on EU law. Organized for the first time during the 1988-1989 academic year, this competition aims to promote practical knowledge of EU law and the art of advocacy among law students. The final, the last stage of the competition, has been held at the Court since 1991.

The students were selected following an extremely rigorous process (approximately 80 teams initially) that included a written phase and an oral phase. The teams will plead in the final before juries made up of Members of the Court of Justice and the General Court. They represent six universities from different countries and won the regional finals that took place in February and March 2025 in Brno (Czech Republic), Barcelona (Spain), Helsinki (Finland) and Lyon (France).

Students from EU Member States and non-EU countries such as the UK, Switzerland, the USA and Azerbaijan took part in this year’s competition.
